What do we do
Our free Strength and Wellbeing Course is aimed at men local to Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan who are struggling with aspects of their mental health and would benefit from a more hands-on approach. It’s a weekly 2-hour session for 8 weeks.
This is our unique intervention designed with men’s needs in mind. It combines an introduction to Olympic lifting (getting a barbell off the floor) for all abilities during the first part of the session, and the wellbeing workshop and seminars during the second part. In the workshop, we discuss a range of topics related to health promotion and psychoeducation of common mental health problems, drawing upon evidence-based approaches and cognitive-behavioral therapy skills and tools. We cover a variety of topics, including stress, sleep, anxiety, depression, and a range of skills and tools used to enhance wellbeing.
If you’d like to know more, simply fill out our contact form. If you’re local and would like to sign up, just complete a self-referral, and we’ll be in touch
